Why Your Call to Action Might Be Failing, and How to Fix It
A strong call to action should feel like a hand reaching out. Too often CTAs get buried under design choices that look elegant but work against usability.
The Baymard Institute analyzed thousands of ecommerce flows and concluded that clear CTAs outperform clever ones. Labels like “See pricing” or “Start your project” outperformed vague “Click here.” Design mistakes compound the problem: low contrast buttons, overcrowded pages, and too many competing CTAs.
Fixes are straightforward. Improve contrast and size, reduce competition on the page, use specific action language, and place the button where eyes naturally land.
