Top 10 Questions to Ask Before a Redesign

A redesign is exciting, but teams often jump into layouts and colors before asking the right questions. Use this checklist to slow down in the best way.

  1. Who is the primary audience, and how do we know that?

  2. What one action should they take first, and where will that happen?

  3. What are the top three frustrations with the current site?

  4. How does mobile use compare to desktop for our users?

  5. What emotions should the site convey, and how will we validate that?

  6. What tools and integrations must carry over without breaking?

  7. How will accessibility be tested? (A helpful overview from W3C)

  8. Which pages actually drive conversions today?

  9. What content is outdated or missing?

  10. What does success look like six months after launch?

If you cannot answer these, you are not ready to redesign. A thoughtful process saves time, money, and stress. If you want help leading a predictable, human process, contact me.
